Newcastle Printing LTD. was started in 1973 by Paul Barry Sr. but that isn’t the start of printing in our family.

In 1906, it was G. F. MacWilliam who started the North Shore Leader a weekly newspaper in the small town of Newcastle, Brunswick. Now known as apart of the city of Miramichi.

Paul Barry Sr’s, one of G. F. MacWilliam’s grandson began to work at the newspaper from the time he left high school until the business was sold to George Cadogan in 1973. During the acquisition, Paul Sr. purchased the commercial printing division of the business; it was then that Newcastle Printing LTD was born.

Paul Sr. worked hard over the next decade growing the business all the while working as a full-time fire dispatcher. As business flourished, his son, Paul Barry Jr. joined the staff in 1987.

Today, Paul Barry Jr. continues to successfully operate Newcastle Printing LTD in the heart of Miramichi, N.B.
